Queen - Love of My Life - G Legacy

-

"Love of My Life" is a song by the British rock band Queen from their 1975 album A Night at the Opera. A sentimental ballad featuring a harp, it was written by Freddie Mercury.

After Queen performed the song in South America in 1981, the version from their live album Live Killers reached number 1 in the singles chart in Argentina and Brazil, and stayed in the charts in both countries for an entire year.

Mercury wrote it on the piano and guitar first, and Brian May rearranged the song for acoustic 12-string guitar for live performances, also lowering the key by a minor third. May contributed occasional guitar phrases to the original recording and played the swooping harp glissandos by pasting together multiple takes of single chords.

Lyrics

Love of my life, you've hurt me

You've broken my heart

And now you leave me

Love of my life, can't you see?

Bring it back, bring it back

Don't take it away from me

Because you don't know

What it means to me

Love of my life, don't leave me

You've taken my love

(All my love)

You now desert me

Love of my life, can't you see?

(Please bring it back)

Bring it back, bring it back

Don't take it away from me

Because you don't know

What it means to me

You will remember

When this is blown over

And everything's all by the way

When I grow older

I will be there at your side

To remind you how I still love you

I still love you

Back, hurry back

Please, bring it back home to me

Because you don't know

What it means to me

Love of my life

Love of my life
