Queen - Who Wants To Live Forever (Official Video)

"Who Wants to Live Forever" is a song by the British rock band Queen. A power ballad, it is the sixth track on the album A Kind of Magic, which was released in June 1986, and was written by lead guitarist Brian May for the soundtrack to the film Highlander.

Queen was backed up by an orchestra, with orchestrations by the co-composer of the film's score, Michael Kamen. The song peaked at No. 24 in the UK charts. In 1991 it was included in the band’s second compilation album Greatest Hits II.

Since its release, the song has been covered by many artists. Seal performed a live version of the song at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992. In 2014, Rolling Stone readers voted it their fifth favourite song by Queen, and in 2018 it was listed at number 15 in "The top 20 Queen songs of all time" by Smooth Radio.

Lyrics

There's no time for us.

There's no place for us.

What is this thing that builds our dreams, yet slips away from us?

Who wants to live forever?

Who wants to live forever?

There's no chance for us.

It's all decided for us.

This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us.

Who wants to live forever?

Who wants to live forever?

Who dares to love forever

When love must die?

But touch my tears with your lips,

Touch my world with your fingertips,

And we can have forever,

And we can love forever.

Forever is our today.

Who wants to live forever?

Who wants to live forever?

Forever is our today.

Who waits forever anyway?
